Application Instructions

The application must be postmarked by January 2, 2009 in order for you to be considered. Only current high school seniors are eligible to apply for Merit Awards. You must be officially admitted to the University by January 2, 2009 in order for your Merit Awards application to be considered. Visit the UNCG Office of Undergraduate Admissions for more information.

Application Instructions:
Complete each question on the application. If you choose to mail or fax your application, your answers should be typed or printed clearly in pen. Clearly label all essay-response pages with your full name. Attach all essay-response pages to the back of the application with a paperclip. Sign the Certification Statements. Detach the cover page and mail the completed application to:

Only legible Merit Awards Program Applications with original handwriting or typing will be accepted. Student may fax the application to the Financial Aid Office at 336-334-3010, however it is the student's responsibility to ensure that the fax is received and is legible. Late applications may not be given full consideration.

 

Award Notification
Applicants are notified of their status in the scholarship competition in early February. Merit Awards finalists are required to participate in on-campus interviews, usually held in late February or early March. Some scholarships may be awarded without interview. Award decisions are final and are made at the sole discretion of UNCG.
