School of Music     

All funds awarded through the School of Music (except the A. J. Fletcher Scholarship and the Presser Foundation Scholarship) are based on the audition for admission to the School of Music. To obtain an Audition Request Form, contact the School of Music at (336) 334-5789.

Joel R. Adams & William P. Carroll Scholarship For Graduate Study In Music	Awarded to graduate students in the School of Music who are majoring in Choral Conducting, Vocal Performance or Composition.
Doris Huffines Bernhardt Graduate Award In Music	Awarded to graduate students in the School of Music.
William F. Black Scholarship In Jazz Studies	Awarded to talented and deserving undergraduate students who are majoring in Jazz Studies.
Jonathan Randall Black Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students in the School of Music with a preference for graduates of Pinecrest High School (Pinehurst, NC).
Dr. John Boda Music Composition Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in Music Composition, with a preference for juniors or seniors.
Susan Elizabeth Brown Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Music.
Burke Endowed Scholarship In Clarinet	Awarded on the basis of merit to a student in the School of Music whose principal instrument is clarinet.
Burlington Industries Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Marie Cranford Carter Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Music.
Todd Owen Carter Music Fund	Awarded to graduate music students with a preference for those majoring in choral or instrumental conducting.
Dorothy Buchanan Collins Fellowship In Music	Awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement to graduate students in the School of Music, with first preference given to those concentrating on vocal performance.  Financial need will be an important secondary consideration in selecting recipients.
Barbara & Herman Cone Jr. Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Music.
Alyse Smith Cooper Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in Music, with a preference for students who are majoring in voice, piano, or organ.
Patricia Haines Copley Music Scholarship	Awarded to a student in the School of Music whose principal instrument is piano.
Marion Stedman Covington Music Scholarship	Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or musical talent to undergraduate students majoring in Music.
Elizabeth Cowling Music Scholarship	Awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement to students in the School of Music.  Financial need may also be considered in selecting recipients.
Richard Cox Vocal Arts Scholarship	Awarded to students in the School of Music who are voice majors, concentrating in choral conducting or pedagogical studies, opera performance, or other vocal arts concentrations.
UNCG Double Reed Endowed Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students in the School of Music whose principal instrument is oboe or bassoon.
Hermene Warlick Eichorn Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Matthew E. Russ And Ann Fitzmaurice-Russ Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students majoring Psychology, Sociology, and Jazz Studies in the Music School, and to graduate students in the Creative Writing Program in the English Department.  Scholarship will rotate among these departments, so that each department makes awards once every four years.
A.J. Fletcher Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Lewis J. Gaskin Family Harp Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students in the School of Music whose major instrument is Harp.
James Maurice And Sallie Steelman Godbey Scholarship	Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need to undergraduate students majoring in the School of Music.  Students must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA for renewal of scholarship.
Elizabeth D. Harris Memorial Scholarship In Music	Awarded on the basis of academic achievement to undergraduate students majoring in Music Education.  Financial need may be a factor in selecting recipients.
Roslyn Southerland Harris Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Lawrence E. And Alma Louise Knuckey Hart Graduate Fellowship In Music	Awarded to graduate students majoring in the School of Music.
Ila A. Hensley, Virginia Jeter Sneed & Virginia Elizabeth Sneed Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Hester Undergraduate Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Margaret Mcconnell Holt Music Scholarship	Awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students majoring in the School of Music, with preference for students studying violin.
Martha Jordan Jones Piano Performance Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in Piano Performance in the School of Music.
Stan Kenton Memorial Jazz Studies Scholarship	Awarded primarily on the basis of financial need to students studying Jazz in the School of Music.
Dr. Lenoir C. Wright Music Scholarship	Awarded to students, enrolled full-time, majoring in the School of Music.
Carolyn M. & Clayton Lee Piano Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music whose principal instrument is piano.
Linton/Cooke Family Music Scholarship	Awarded to voice students majoring in Music Education with a concentration in Choral/General Music Education.  Recipients will be sophomores and NC residents.
Shirley Golden Lynch & Bert G. Lynch Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music, with preference for students who have financial need.
Marion Moring Stedman Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Music.
Mock, Dallas & Birch Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students in the School of Music with a preference for those whose major instrument is piano or organ.
Grace Van Dyke More Music Scholarship	Awarded to undergraduate students with financial need whose major is Music Education.
Edwin Phillip & Inga Borgstrom Morgan Piano Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music whose principal instrument is piano.
Joy Culbreth Morrison Graduate Fellowship In Music	Awarded to a graduate student majoring in the School of Music.
David Moskowitz Music Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music whose principal instrument is a string instrument.
Music Student And Faculty Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Musical Arts Guild Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
School Of Music - Dean's Award	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music, with preference for students whose principal instrument is piano.
School Of Music General Scholarship	Awarded to students majoring in the School of Music.
Presser Foundation Music Scholarship	Awarded to a rising senior student majoring in the School of Music.
Laura B. & Christopher C. Tew Viola Scholarship	Awarded to talented and deserving students majoring in Music whose major instrument is Viola.
Elizabeth Fulton Van Noppen Music Scholarship	Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and musical talent to students majoring in Music Education.  Financial need may be a consideration in making selections.
Bo Williams & Ish Brady Music Scholarship	Awarded on the basis of financial need to students majoring in the School of Music.
Tom Zirker Memorial Flute Scholarship	Awarded to talented and deserving undergraduate students majoring in Music whose principal instrument is flute.
