Online Students

Online refers to students who are admitted to a program that is specifically classified as an online-only program. A student can take online courses without being an “online” student. A listing of these programs is available through the Office of Online Learning.

Tuition and Fees for online classes are determined through the Office of Online Learning. This is a different rate than for campus based courses. For more information on the costs please visit the Cashiers and Student Accounts Office.

The Cost of Attendance for Financial Aid for students in online programs is adjusted to a distance budget. The cost of attendance for distance education students includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies and personal/miscellaneous expenses. For more information on Cost of Attendance. Online students should be aware that if a student has purchased a computer out of pocket for the current academic year they may be eligible for reimbursement. This adjustment is limited to a one-time addition to your cost of attendance.  The student must complete the Cost of Attendance Adjustment Form and provide a copy of receipt identifying the student as the purchaser of the computer. Please note that these expenses may or may not increase your award, depending on your financial aid eligibility. Please contact our office at 336-334-5702 if you have further questions.

Eligibility for Financial Aid is determined by admission to an eligible degree seeking program. Not all of the licensure or certificate level online programs offered at UNCG are eligible for aid. Click on the link for a list of the eligible programs. Distance students also have to meet the same requirements for continued eligibility as campus based students.
