UNCG Grants and Scholarships: Athletics

Listed below are available scholarships for student-athletes in each sport of UNCG’s 14-team intercollegiate athletics program. UNCG participates in all NCAA funding opportunities available to Division I institutions. C. Thomas Martin Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to a member of the women's basketball team.
Caroline McHardy Elliot ScholarshipAwarded on the basis of financial need to a student-athlete with preference given to student majoring in Recreation and Parks Management.
Celebration of Women in Sport ScholarshipAwarded to student-athlete of a UNCG women's athletic team.
Charles A. Hayes Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to members of the men's basketball team.
Charlie M. Reid Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to members of the basketball or golf teams (men's or women's).
David Bates Knight ScholarshipAwarded to a rising junior or senior student-athlete who is majoring in the sciences.
Ellen Griffin Scholarship In Women's GolfAwarded to a member of the women's golf team. Recipients must be U.S. citizens
Frederick R. and Madelyn S. Phillips Athletic Scholarship
Awarded to a student-athlete who has demonstrated the ability to compete at a high level while sustaining a level of academic performance equal to or surpassing University standards.
Gary, Marilyn and Jordan Smith Athletic ScholarshipAwarded with preference to a member of the men's basketball team, with additional preference given to a student-athlete majoring in Business at the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG.
George G. Hoyle & Kathleen A. Kelly Endowed Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to a member of the UNCG Men's soccer team who has demonstrated the ability to compete at a high level while sustaining exemplary academic performance.
H. Michael Weaver Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to student-athletes displaying athletic excellence.

Awarded to a member of the women's basketball team who demonstrates ability to compete at high level while sustaining exemplary academic performance.

Stanley & Dorothy Frank Athletic ScholarshipAwarded to a member of the baseball team or the men's basketball team.
Vann, Frances, and Linda L. Warren Endowed Scholarship for Women's SportsAwarded to a member of a UNCG Women's athletic team who has a predicted GPA of 2.5 or better as an incoming freshman and/or maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater after her freshman year and until graduation.

William S.
